Nikki is a delightful little pony that has had on going founder issues. After her last bout of laminitis in Jan 2004 her owner thought she would not pull through. It was decided to bring Nikki to me for some serious rehabilitation. With attention to nutritional imbalances, hoof care, energy work, herbs and gentle movement, she went from lying down and un-willing to move to walking freely in 3 days. She recovered rapidly and was ready to go home after 2 weeks. On returning home Nikki was well enough to be ridden and has remained healthy and sound enough to compete in local events with her young rider. Her continued good health is due to her owners diligent management of her condition, ensuring Nikki does not have excessive access to the types of grasses that can trigger laminitis in sensitive equines, as well as making sure her nutritional needs are meet and her hooves are trimmed regularly.
