Off The Wall Transitions

Miko

Miko is a thoroughbred racehorse that had a short evening career.
His last owner gave him away at 7 years old as a paddock mate.
He had been diagnosed with Ringbone.
He started on a natural hoof care programme in May 2002 and it soon became apparent that his Ringbone was the least of his worries.
Miko had extreme dental and skeletal issues that made his rehabilitation lengthy as each problem was isolated and addressed.
Towards the end of 2003 he was moving well enough to begin some light schooling and hacking once again.
Miko has gone onto the Equine Rehabilitation Systems Adoption/Lease Scheme and now has a new home with another horse and teenage owner where he continues to be ridden and looked after in a caring and nurturing environment.
